Recommended Bi-Stable Shutters
Bi-stable shutters are devices that do not require power to hold them in the open or closed state. These devices only require power when switching from one state to the other – there is no default state. The shutter will always remain in the last state to which it was switched. A bi-stable shutter works best in applications where power is at a premium or when heat emitted from the shutter's actuator during the time it is being held in the open (or active state) is a concern as it could be within a vacuum.
